Fishing Toronto?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fishing Toronto?

Post by FromTheNorth »

Hey guys,

It's good to see fish-hawk back online. I've been busy with work so I wasn't able to go fishing. Without this website, I was freaking out.

Well, I'm going to be stuck in Toronto for the next 13 days for work. Unfortunately, in my line of work, there are a few periods of action with Lots of waiting around. While I am there, I'm hoping to get some fishing done, but I don't know Toronto at all.

Is there any where to do some salmon fishing in Toronto right now? I come Lake superior region, since I've moved to Ottawa I havn't had a chance to fish salmon(my favorite fish). I figured I could make the most of this trip.

I've never fished the TO area but I'm sure at this time of year there is bound to be action at any of the piers on Lake O. I can think of Bronte Pier offthe top of my head but there are also areas around Port Credit. As for rivers/streams, tributaries like Bronte Creek, Credit River, Duffins Creek etc, will all likely get a run of salmon. Just look for the crowds.

I wish I could help more but I've never made the run out there to give it a try. I too am from the Soo once upon a time and I still plan my visits around spring and fall fishing there.

Good luck I hope you have some success.

The humber R in Toronto near High Park gets a small run of salmon. Its accessable near the Old Mill. There used to be a nice run below the stone bridge. I can't say for certain what it's like now for I haven't fished it in 5 years. Be prepared though, its urban fishing!

Cheers,

Thanks for the help guys. I'm in toronto now, funny enough, i'm staying with my sister in High Park. The crummy thing is... I needed more equipment than I though for work, so I couldn't carry my rod and tackle on the bus.

I guess I'm doomed to go salmonless this year.
Maybe next year!

Again, Thanks for the help!
