This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

How many hours use do you give a new musky bait before switching back to something you have confidence in?

Swichin Baits

Post by Weekend Angler »

Hi Crusty;

I think you need to add a few more categories. Like 5 minutes... maybe 30 seconds... :D

I will occasionally force myself to use one lure for an hour or so. It's hard not to switch when you don't have action within about 15 minutes.

By action I mean a follow or strike even a swipe. Something to indicate that they are at least a little interested.

Some guys will stay with the same bait for a while. I like to switch it up often at least a color change maybe stay with the same bait and try different colors and retrieves.

Try to do something different with the bait you are using before switching. Either speed it up slow it down anything different...
