Near where I do alot of trout fishing I recently found out about a couple lakes that have a fish called Landlocked Salmon at least thats what it means in english, I think its called Wananish or something in french. Anyway I am wondering if anyone has fished for them before or would know what to use and where to fish them etc.
Any info would help
Thanks lads

Ouananiche / Land Locked Salmon are stocked in a number of Quebec lakes within easy driving distance of Ottawa / Gatineau. The Baskatong Reservoir is probably the #1 destination of late.
They can be caught using similar methods to fishing Specks but by far your best success will come from trolling boards along shorelines and baiting with streamer flies such as the Memphramegog Smelt.
Downrigging with light tackle using the same bait can be the open water technique. Depths will range from just subsurface to 35 - 40'.
A really great fighting fish and mighty tasty on the plate too.
