Trent River Questions...Re-WORDED to non-specific.
( I had previously asked specific location and have changed this to more of a general request)
Hello there fellow anglers.......
Ive been around here for a few years now and have the odd time, posted some information too. Today I have a question.
We have put an offer in on a house in Frankford, it is right on the Trent River.
Was wondering how the 'Lunge' fishing was in the lower Trent.
-Water Depths (by average)
-Areas to avoid ie: underwater hazards etc.
-Casting/Trolling?????????
Also, has anyone fished Oak Lake?
Our realtor tells me the lunge fishing is great, but I dont see his name on any fishing board........lol
Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.......
NOT INQUIRING AS TO ANYONES, 'HOT SPOTS'.
Feel free to E-mail me direct........
This is a sincere request........Many Thanks

Brixs,
I am from The Belleville area and if you are looking for muskie water then Bradley's Bay aka Percy Reach is a good area. You can launch at either Lock 8 or German's landing. You can pick up chart for this area at Keebles in Belleville which will give you the water depths also.
just as a note most of the sections of the river from Trenton to frankford are not easily accessed unless you have a small boat. another good lake is Stoco lake which is aboput a 40 min drive from the Frankford area.
Hope this helps.
Bryan
Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions

Bryan,
Many thanks for your reply Bud!
Your reply was exellent news for us.
We do have a small tiller at 14' which hopefully does the trick.
The offer we put on the house in Frankford came back positive for us this morning and we now have 10 days to close on the property.
Recently forced into retirement by dissability we've been really looking forward to a waterfront home with good fishing.......this seems to be it for us.
Many thanks again Bryan!

Frankford is a nice town, you'll like it.

P.S. - watch that Jignpig fella - he's a shift fella

Frankford
Glen ross to Frankford is an overlooked body of water it has everything including Muskies. Just takes some time very very weedy!! Oak lake has some bass and pike small and not much public access. PM me if you want to know some specifics.
Bryan - I need advice now, not next summer
- see ya friday night at the banquet (I've mastered your signature so I'm going to be signing on your bar chit)
Skeet544 - I also heard there are alot of crappies in that stretch - can they be caught now or do we have to wait until next spring when it's warmer?

Hey Brixstoneiceman; I lived in Frankfurt (on the river) about 30 years ago. I don't know about now but back then Muskie fishing was not all that great in the lower Trent. However it is a fantastic and fun fishery for other types of fish. There is great channel cat fishing between most of the dams as well as good bass and pike and the stretch above Frankfurt had some pretty good Walleye as well. Fishing off the rapids below the dams was always productive but you need to be careful of submerged rocks and floating debris. My favorite area for fishing from a boat was the area between the first dam at Trenton and the river mouth at the Bay of Quinte. It was excellent sturgeon fishing and the walleye fishing could be fantastic at certain times of the year. We would often troll that stretch in March as soon as the ice was out and had very good luck.
You can fish in the evening because the lights along the river within the city limit provide plenty of light to fish by. Hope this helps!

Pepe,
For one you ain't man enough to sign my signature, and secondly I hope you show up Friday because the banquet is on Saturday and that way I won't have to look at you. If you want to go crappie fishing your best bet is to talk to Don T. he is the Crappie master on Bradley's All I know is I am going fishing for Crappie tomorrow and I am not telling you where.

I have several friends that live on the Trent between Frankford and Glen Ross. I've seen quite a few musky come from there as well as some monster Smallies. Most people would probably be surprised to see how many big fish are in that small section of river. You may have yourself a great little honey hole there. Keep us posted this summer.
