Shangri-La Lodge

Post by Smitty »

Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone has stayed at this lodge - thinking about booking a trip to there in July...any experience with fishing on Whitefish lake would be appreciated also.

thanks

I have never stayed there. But I do fish the area. mostly cranberry and dog as I have a trailer at brass point. Great bass fishing and a great place to boat as there are 4 lakes you can travel with out locking your boat.

Most people fish the weed beds for bass just out from most any bay. But i find that late afternoon top water is the best on a clam day.

Be carefull of the many rock shoals in the area. Most are marked but Iv seen some logs that could really stop a boat.

SHANGRI-LA - LODGE

Post by Dances With Fishes »

Smitty, I have know the owners since they bought the place and totally turned it around. My wife and I, as well as many members of our family have stayed there over the years and Don and Tara have always been great hosts. and very friendly. We have a cottage lot in the area and often stop in for breakfast or to fill up the boat. I would not hesitate to recomend it as a great place to stay. Not super fancy but definitely a good place to relax and head out on the lake from. You can boat for miles and the only obstacle is the Brass-Point Bridge, which small boats can pass under and big boats can pass trough. 8)
Cheers

We stayed at Shangri-La for a week in 2005 & 2006. Don & Tara are great hosts, the place is really nice, the food was great, and best of all we caught lots of fish. Some nice ones right on Whitefish Lake.

I have pics from around the lodge, and fish on my website..

If you need anymore specific info you can E-mail through my website !
