This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hi Joco,

Yeah, I've seen the half-height crates as well - I think I actually need the full-height since my tackle boxes (my biggest storage problem) are long and skinny. We'll see how it goes on Saturday. Can't be worse than the way I'd been doing it in the past :D I blame my bad luck so far on the fish hearing me swearing when I'm trying to reach my boxes

YakAttack: if you have the time to go but just not the car, I can also fit another yak on my roof rack. Are you in Kanata? Of course, standard disclaimer: not responsible for kayaks leaving roof rack  Let me know... It'd be a shame to miss the first group outing!

joco and steve - thanks so much for the offers of transportation - other problem is that I'll have to stay home with the kids while my wife takes the one to the party.

That's life with kids - I'll get out next time fer sure (I hope  )

Do you know where yet? I may be able to make it in my canoe if it is on the South West side of Ottawa.

I will go wherever the experienced yakkers want to go!!!
We should all meet for a good breakie first!!!!

I keep hearing about a Milk Crate. If I setup all my stuff in a milk crate i should be able to set that up on the kayak right with bungee cords????

Hey Wallyboss,

I am up in the air as to where to go too :) I just want to get out, period.

As for the milk crate, yeah, they're very popular for storing stuff and I've just done exactly what you described with mine. I just sat it on top the back of my kayak and secured with bungee cords. Just hook it up to whatever you can. Just make sure it *is* secure - don't want to lose your stuff :D

Just got off the Ottawa, white cap city.

I measured the wind at 42km/h from the North, man in shorts and a tee I had the high beams going (there is a disturbing image for ya)

Not fussy about where we fish but I would like to stay out of current, first time out and feeling a bit like a pussy.

So where do we meet for breakfast?

Iceman it'll teach you to wear something that is strapless hihihi

I haven't worked on the road in about 2 years so I am not sure what restaurants in Westend are good for breakie.

I am all for Constance Lake, not too big in case the wind picks up and chances to getinto some fair size bass and some pikes. All we need now is for soembody to pick a restaurant. We could always have Breakie at the one right at the launch.

Local Heros on Carling near the March Rd. make a good breakfast and is reasonably priced but they don't open until 8:00Am on Saturdays....same time at Constance Lake Lodge 8:00...the Lighthouse Restaurant in Constance Bay opens at 7:00AM and has great breakfasts

I'm easy, but the breakfast at Constance is yummy and smaller water for some of us virgin yakkers is appealing.
