Clear Lake/Surrounding Lakes

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Welcome to the site GBrey.

I want to make this clear.

On this site, anyone is welcome to post whatever question they like and they should never be made to feel like their question is not welcome. Period.

If anyone doesn't like that policy they don't have to hang out on this site - I'll give them a complete refund!

If it drives you crazy that anyone can out of the blue post a question like - anyone have any tips about Clear Lake? than you are just going to have to suffer. It's the whole point of Fish-Hawk.Net!

Should someone expect to receive a response like "Try the third dock east of the brown house on the north side and then try out these GPS coordinates" than they are nuts. Anyone who gives that kind of info is shooting themselves in the foot. Besides - what do people expect? The key to a rock holding 20 bass? They come they go.

But if someone has info about a lake like "Black Power worms tossed into the fallen trees worked great for me last year" than what is so wrong about that? Or "Find some deep weeds and drop some jigs and craws in there over and over until you find the bass"

Come on folks - let's relax a little.

Well said, that pretty much sums up what I was saying just a little better written. I was told by a friend of mine that this site had too much drama on it and that no one replied to his question when he posted so he decided not to continue. I have been telling him that I like the site and the help Clown Worship and I have recieved has been very positive. But there definitely has been some noticable tension here and there and thats when I get silly and try to lighten things up a bit, I cant help it thats the way I am in life as well as on the keyboard. Clown and I were critisized by someone the other day for not being serious about a question that was posted, but the question had many serious answers to it and some lecturing tones to some of them so we wrote a couple of things that were laughable and certainly werent making fun of any one. We do know when its appropriate and not. I didnt like the kitten reference on a post yesterday but I know it was meant as humour and not serious. (I hope.) Anyway good fishing to everyone this weekend, looking forward to all the reports. 8)

Im new here to, i just found this site, but im not new to Clear, Indian, or newboro, i got 15 years under my belt there. but unfortunatly they were all early june when bass isn't in. so i cant help you out too much with the bass fishing. i once took a trip threw the locks to the optigon, trying for walleye, but we didn't do any good, not knowin the waters. and felt it wasn't worth the hassel of going to the locks again to go back. this year im goin up on July 14th. and its been probabbly 15years since ive been to this lake system. so its going to be a learning experiance all over again. being mid summer, my ole hot spots will probabbly be cold spots. I prefer to fish for bass at night using topwater baits. and fish pike by day.

Can't help you out because I've never been there myself. But, from what I've heard, it's an excellent smallmouth fishery. I plan on hitting it in late August. Good luck!

Newboro is worth the trip-----If you want bass--try hungry bay- & below lock near Cherry Island. On shore you will see a cabin with moose antlers above the deck. Appx half way out to Cherry Island is a channel about 10 ft deep. Lotsa weeds floatin along. Try minnows or throw spinners in July & August. Hungry Bay also good for Pike. If you want Lg mouth try Channel Islands area near entrance to Clear Lake. If you need more info PM me.

Hi everyone, I gotta give my 2 cents on this. I have not posted much on the site and generally I am asking for some kind of help. That said, I have not found a better place for info on eastern Ontario, I live in Richmond Hill and do not know the area that well. I will be spending a week in Calabogie this summer and I thank everyone that answered my questions, hopefully I will be able to give some good feedback on my return. I would be happy to give a few tips to anyone that wants to fish where I do (Temagami,Six Mile) and I am sure that

This is a great site, if you don't want to help out someone thats fine but like my momma said, if you ain't got nothin nice to say don't say nothin at all.

Thats all from me,

I guess I'd have to consider myself a 'lurker'. It seems that the vast majority of the posts come from eastern or southern Ont, and since I live in the Sault and don't seem to get out fishing nearly as much as the regular users on this site, I don't have a lot to contribute. It's that simple That being said, I still enjoy viewing the majority of the posts and will continue to do so until something changes. I don't even want to think about how many more posts we'd have to muddle through if all us 'lurkers' started contributing on a regular basis.

In the way back past, ive found that i could catch large numbers of Pike on Newboro. but nothing of any size. Ive always caught my larger pike in Indian lake. North of goat Island around the rock pile was alway good, and so was hungry bay, esp when the wind is just right, and using minnows, and bobbers to drift down the bay.
