Bass eat mouse world

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Why are bass pro stores allowed to have a tank full of many different game fish . I think it would be cool to have a largemouth as a pet aslong as its in a tank thats big enough and is set up to simulate a natural enviroment. Whats wrong with that?.

Pet Bass??

Bass Pro shops would probably have the same sort of exclusion, the same as a zoo or aquarium would have.

I won't even dignify the second question with a response.

I seem to have upset a few people, and am sorry for that, and no its not something i took a great deal of pleasure in watching. I found that it may be of some interest to the fish-hawk community. Its funny the other fishing website i found this on, didn'thave these reactions. Once again, I am sorry to those i offended.

Cheers :)

Denis

P.S. Thanks Dmo, Justin :)

Hmmm, quite the different reaction on this site as opposed to the other! Although it isn't my cup of tea, I still found it somewhat interesting. And in this age of violent video games, 6'oclock news reels, sex, swearing and violence-filled movies and TV programs, I'd say the clip posted was pretty mild, especially in contrast to what today's youth and children view on a daily basis. Yes, it was set up, but it happens in nature everyday.
As hunters we shoot and kill animals. As anglers we hook and fight with fish.
We never bat an eye about that....

Good Fishing,

Funny part is that most decent boat ramps have "No Fish Cleaning on the Premesis" signs posted....so looks like you get a fine either way! 8) Dang this sport's expensive.
You can transport a fish from the boat launch home without cleaning it and without it being alive. you just have to give it a tap or two on the mellon. i think that's what's intended.

If I ever get a pet bass, it will eat nothing but tofu squares and veggie dogs!

wolfman,

it wasn't the idea of the bass eating the mouse that was disturbing...it was the obvious relish and delight the jerky punk took in staging, watching and filming it. Has absolutely nothing to do with tofu, bud.

It has everything to do with tofu!
Seriously though, I was just trying to lighten the mood of this thread.

I don't find the video any more disturbing than watching a nile croc take out a zebra on Discovery Channel. The fact that this particular footage is staged seems irrelevant because the same thing happens in nature on a regular basis.

OK: here's an idea...

Let's shape a mouse out of tofu and then toss it to the bass. Rated G for all viewing audiences, then.

Hey matcolecat, on a more benign note -- how's that fishin' kid of yours doing? Did you two get out for any more Dad/Daughter fishing trips?? :D

3 weeks for her to defend her big bass "title" at baitcasters Lol. I finished school in december, so the trip out this year have been very limited, easy to skip school, hard to skip work! Lol Cathy is taking the kids home to newfoundland next week, I know I'll be able to get out a lot. Plus its getting hard with my son realizing at 21 mths that daddy is leavin him behind and taking his sister. We got out a few times, caught a whack of pan fish, which thea adores. How are the kids rash doing? I know when I had something similar the doctor gave us a topical anesthetic that numbed our skin

Never actually seen that happen so now I can say I did and that it was cool at a scale of about 5 out of 10.

Denis,
Glad to hear you managed a few outings. Get used to the sibling rivalry -- it gets worse, trust me.

Thx for asking. You'd never know Shane had an encounter with that nasty parasite, as he didn't get the severe reaction Tyler had. Only a couple of visible spots left on him, one week later. But Tyler, although not so itchy anymore, has tons of red spots where the creepy SOB's buried into him.

I did let them go back in the lake this wknd (we just got back) but not off the dock, where the water is shallow, warmer and calm. We took them off in the boat and "imported" them to a new spot... When they got out I toweled the bejeesus out of them and into the shower they went a short time later (supposedly, this helps scrape the nasties off).

I know I need to try again off the dock, but I just don't know when yet, as I still get the creeps looking at Tyler's skin. He had it soooo bad.

Take care and enjoy your new-found free time this coming week. Fish on! :D
