Sharbot Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Sharbot Lake

Post by baz fish »

This weekend Im thinking of heading to Sharbot Lake anybody knows about some good shore fishing spot around or in the Sharbot Lake Provincial Park or around the town of Sharbot Lake. Or is it better on Black Lake and is there any place around that area that I could rent a boat? What I should use for lures all be mostly fishing for bass pike and pan fish.

baz, the provincial park pretty much surrounds Black Lake and I don't think there are any sites that front onto Sharbot. They do rent canoes in the park of course and you could likely toss the canoe in your truck and bring it down to the park's boat launch on Sharbot lake.

Black Lake is full of smallies, many smaller fish but I've heard of some bruisers in there as well.

Let us know how you make out.

There is a couple of spots that you can fish from shore on Sharbot. One is off the dock where the boat launch is in the park and another is on the hiking trail a few minutes in. You can drive over to the other side of the lake (village of Sharbot Lake, off road # 38) and fish from the public launch area also.

I can't say if you'll have any luck from those spots, I have only fished from a boat on that lake. You very well may find more spots, I am going on what I remember from 2yrs ago.

You can rent boats from Sharbot Lake marina, I can;t get the right link up for them but if you do a google search you'll find them.

I was going to book at Sharbot this weekend but decided on trying Silver Lake instead, first time going there.

Good luck and have yourselves a safe, funfilled weekend!

The map at http://fish-hawk.net/hawktalk/viewtopic.php?t=19069 is a pretty accurate place to start. If you can get out and around Green Island (across from the park) its usually pretty good around there for bass. I think you can rent boats at Marina in town. If you get bored with bassing there is a nice trench between the park and Green Is. in the middle for lakers :)
