I would recommend a net over a cradle, Its very easy to get your self injured with a cradle if a Muskie decides to make a run while in a cradle. An angled cradle is like a launch pad and a fish with a mouth full of hooks is tough to handle when its coming at you. I have used a cradle for the past few years but have changed to nets this year be cause its just soooooo much easier to handle fish at boat side in a net.
So I'm the guy manning the the net. This is how I see it
1. My netting skills were not up to par
2. The net was too small
3. we should have switched and he netted because the fish was around the back of the boat
the other thing not mentioned is that the "angler" waited until our buddy got the camera out and deleyed getting the fish in the boat. he should have got the fish in the boat and then videoed it.
BHammy: I feel for you...I did this to my buddy last year...Small net, bad fisherman on the other end...I always blame the other people too ...You are right about the net... it is a wee bit to small for that. I think that you got the wrong end of that video for sure..It's like when a celebrity gets caught in unexpected shots and the story always goes south...Dont take it to hard that the guys are buggin ya...It is all in fun and by the way dont do that again on video...If a camera is present tell them they can net the fish
