Fishing with my boy

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fishing with my boy

Post by Boosterman »

I took out my son for the first time just me and him to an overnight sleep at my favourite lake. I was the first one to wake up just to say it was daylight. Here is picture of him snuggle up in my van

It was very cold for an August morning temperature was 5C.
I got him dressed snow suit and all and up the lake we went for 8 miles. I have to admit even I was cold a bit. Good thing I brought my mustang suit.
We started fishing at my usual spot that I usually do good on. Right away the fish started biting but do you think I could hook one on. They were just sucking on the lure. After missing 4 in a row I was seriously considering adding a trailer hook but I was to cold to tie one on lol. After doing several passes and only one pickerel in the boat I decided to move to another spot. First pass I hooked a nice 20 incher on this one didn't taste the lure he devoured it. Now I new I landed the spot. Next pass my son gets one around 16 inch. Now I was happy he was catching fish. From that point on it was pure insanity one after another. My boy landed this one on his own all he wanted to do is beat me for the big fish. He said to me Dad you always get the bigger fish. But not this time.

We continued to fish and land one after another. It was now 9:30 in the morning and my son comes out with this line. "Ok Dad thats enough fish"lol. We where both cold so we decided to call it a day and head back home. Here is a few more pics

We took our 8 fish home. I was proud as a peacock to share this experience with my boy.

Nothing better than fishing with the kids.
They always come up with great lines. The line my little guys likes is "Dad how come I always catch more fish than you?"
