Got a chance to spend a few day on the Bay of Quinte. Was wondering if I should invest in a planer board. Have read a lot about them, (mostly mfg. hype) but never given them a try. Would appreciate some info by fisherman that have actually used them. A little early ( for the big ones ) but I have to be down that way, and might as well haul my boat and give it a try.
Thanks for the info guys. Gave a inline board a try in the Ottawa yesterday, just to see what it can do. My God it must have been 30 to 40 feet off the boat. Stuck on a Deep Rapala Taildancer No. 11 and actually caught a Sauger that was smaller than the board. Looking forward to trying them on Quinte next week. Will be fishing in Adolphous Reach so will be able to run two lines. Can really see the benefits, especially with line counter reels.
