Bait Shop in Sharbot Lake Area

Was wondering if anyone knew of a bait shop in the Sharbot Lake area. Would like to pick up some minnows there if there is a bait shop in the area. Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a bait shop on hwy #409. It is about 5min north from hwy 7

Last time I was there, there was a tackle shop right Sharbot Lake on the 38. If I'm not mistaken it was called KandA Tackle.

K and A Outdoors was on 509 just north of Highway 7. They closed for good this past weekend. There is a bait shop on 38 not far from the High School in Sharbot Lake, but I can't remember the name right now. (Frontenac Bait and Tackle?). They had minnows the last time I was in there.

You can always get bait at Leonards Bait which is just to the south of Verona on 38. If you are coming up north from 401 you will pass it on the right.

Very sorry to hear K and A Tackle closed for good. The woman there was always very friendly and kept a neat, well stocked store. I tried to buy a few things there each trip, just to keep the ma and pa type stores open. You just can't replace them.
I bought my license there every year, I'll have to find another location I guess.
Frontenac bait and tackle was never open when I went by, but I have been in there, nothing much there except a few minnows and worms.

Agreed on all counts. K and A stayed in business for 10 years and now they are thinking of turning the space into a games/rec room. Her husband has a painting business and she said he is very busy. It was strange to drive by on Sunday and not see the 'Open' flag.

Thats too bad about K & A closing. I too would visit the store more so in the fall as our hunting camp is on hwy 509.

Hopefully not in the area where the uranium claim has been filed... I think I read that the claim is north of Ardoch Road and west of 509. A swath of land that is 5 x 22 kms. I think the 22 kms is along 509.

Sad to hear they are closed for good. My cottage is south of Arden and I try to hit all the streams going up 509 and always stop in for some tackle. She is a great lady in deed and very sorry to see them close up.

Try Cecil's (I think his first name is Tim) about 5-6 mi. south of Sharbot L. on Rt. 38. He is off on the west side of Rt. 38. It is real easy to miss him so be very alert. His prices are good and his bait is fresh. Good luck.

Late reply, but... There's a bait shop right in Sharbot Lake just South on 38 from the Marina. Shiners and Chubb, etc. Eagle Lake bait shop is further south on 38, just before Tichbourne, but he's not had minnows this summer - said he might get some in the fall (now?). Leonard's hasn't had any shiners all summer either, just some very small Chubb.

I was at Leonards this past weekend. He had some very large (4"+) suckers.

Also, as an after thought, Leonards is a great place to get walleye fry up to 8" or more for stocking your lake!!
