Walleye tournament Nov 16 - Bay Of Quinte

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Ah Bountyfishing...I have participated in a few tourneys but never made the cut...Some guys who are chartered fishermen keep winning  but I guess that is why they charter for a living and I dont  This site is very ineresting in that anyone can fish any water anywhere and if they feel their fish is big enough they log it in. You just purchase a day or week and fish fish fish...Over $125,000 was won this summer alone. Still this site for info, friendship and good times is nothing like the best site out there..............FISH-HAWK.NET................... 8)

Well with what I read there its gonna be one crowded area of water that weekend. There are a bunch of members of OFN having a get together for the weekend as well. I will be there that weekend so how do you get involved?

Jason maybe introduce yourself and give some background so people will look seriously at your link, otherwise you may get flack from people thinking you are just spamming.

Hi Don,

I usually fish around Ottawa for pike and bass. Some friends went out with Big Jim last fall for walleye and we decided to put a group together for Nov 16. Someone found the BountyFishing website and suggested that, for fun, we try to build up some interesti in a bounty for that day. A bragging rights sort of deal for an otherwise uneventful day (besides the fishing).

On my end I've hired a charter for myself and 2 friends with Steve Yarrow. The others have their own boats and charters reserved.

Other folks on the water that day will include Sheldon Hatch and some of his PWT buddies. And you mentioned OFN, so there will be quite a few lines in the water that day for sure.

Is everyone going to drag their dead 12 pounder back to the ramp to see who wins a few bucks?

Our group has ceased to have these types of derbies...it doesn't really help the fish out much...

I'll be avoiding the OFN circus that weekend but will be down every weekend from this coming weekend until Xmas..

Good Luck fellas...Lots of fish for everyone!

make it a 13lbs minimum winning fish.

if one isn't caught, the money gets redistributed back.....

no point in weighin' in small walleye just for the sake of killing a bunch of 11's and 12's as all the boats try to win the derby.

Well what we we're hoping to do was use the bountyfishing tourney format.

You get a number for use on that day, write it on a paper.
Catch a fish, put number next to fish, take photo. Take photo also holding fish horizontally.

Prizes would be whatever the bounty is at on bountyfishing.com

The admin on bountyfishing have expressed an interest in setting up prizes if we can get enough people to signup for the event.

If you are interested in an tourney on that day, signup at bountyfishing.com and post a post expressing your interest -> here.

If we have enough people (30 and over) expressing an interest by this coming friday (nov 9 2007), we will setup a prize structure based on entries. Fees are generally $7 with prize payout based on entries. This can all be customized once we get a final head count.

If you want to learn more about how the bounty system works try this link: http://www.bountyfishing.com/enterprise/learnmore

No fish are kept unless your hungry

Is this an ad for Bountyfishing.com?... :?

How do you suppose you will give the prize of "whatever the bounty is on bountyfishing.com"?

RJ: They send a cheque in the mail...Greg Ameil who I think is a writter/pro seems to always win in this bounty format but as far as I know all winners are paid and a cheque is sent in the mail...The only thing if you do sign up is that when taking a pic of your fish make sure you are very straight on youre shot or they will and do measure your fish shorter than it is. The site is pretty good in explaining how it all works. Again this does work but I do think that you need to be careful and expect to be suprised by the length that you record and the length that the bounty crew come up with. Also when taking a pic of you with the fish make sure you are not wearing glasses, the bounty code number you are given is visible in all pics and the fish has to be as close to you as possible. The rules are pretty precise for all of this and overall is usually fair with thier decision. For $7 if you are down that way that day it is worth a shot cause the payouts are usually $1000 for 1st $500 for second and $200 for third.

Hey Almonte,

I'm well aware of how BountyFishing works...I've competed a few time and just missed out on checks.... :x

I don't know why I'm persuing this at all but it makes me really shake my head....Bounty isn't offering anything for this timeframe in the walleye category as far as I can see...

My bad by bumping this thread back up I suppose.....more free advertising....for a "tournament" on a Friday no less... :?

And technically one of the new mods should see this as spam...worse though....because it competes directly with FH....not just some cell phone ad...

Actually RJ I feel that this site is in no way the same...This site is full of great fishermen like you etc who have advice and good info to help people where as this Bounty site is just a tourny site that people can enter for $$$...This site is 1000 times better and in no way should be scared of that bounty site...As for missing cheques it happens a lot huh...Always the same people winning...Something fishy is up with that. Anyway if you feel this is spam then so be it but I would not be concerned that this one post is going to bring everyone to Bounty....Just my 2.3 cents...And thanks for the help on my question to you RJ greatly appreciated.
