I don't even want to think about it. I guess once we do my income tax next spring I'll have a better picture but it's not as much as before.
Gas has been more but I had to cut back on rods, reels and lures with the decline of the US dollar I'm losing a lot of $$$ once again this year.
In the fall I spend over $400 a week on gas alone. OUCH
Fishing boat $60 000, truck $40 000, tackle $30 000 catching trophy muskies PRICELESS
Catch and release them all

Yes hmm... Considering I put over 2000 mile's on my boat alone never mind driving to and from the lakes I couldnt imagine what the gas bill is.
New Boat $30,000+
Truck to pull boat $16000 (Used)
Rods and Reels $2000+
Assorted expenses $3000+
Catching fish Priceless
Thanks be 2 God

Thousands and thousands of dollars. My brother in law could give you an exact total. He wants to know exactly how much I spend on everything

64 days on the water and 20000km+ traveled. It would scare me to total up the cost

Way too much! I'm pretty sure my wife's estimate is even higher than mine. I wouldn't trade either one of them (wife or fishing) though.

I could have spent alot more
tournaments - $950
gas - $650
fishing gear - $2400
insurance, memberships and licences - $950
trying to get boat fix - $6700
key word is trying, the boat still not fix with bills coming
I would have spent more, but not having a working boat I wasn't able to get out as much as I would have.

Wow, you guys make me feel like a tightwad. I either wade or fish from a 10-year-old kayak that cost me about $300 all those years ago. I fish either in town or somewhere near my little camp, so travel costs are minimal. I did have to replace a spinning reel for $55 and I bought 2 spools of FireLine for about $40. So, capital costs of about $100, bait and lures, about $40, maybe.
Joco, I can't imagine what you're doing to make kayak outfitting a major expense. Total outfitting cost for mine was about $25 -- $20 for a rod holder and $5 for deck rigging. That's all I need and all I want.
One of the great things about fishing is that you can spend like crazy if you want, or spend next to nothing and still have a great time.
