Packin her in

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Packin her in

Post by Badger Shark »

Well I really wanted to get out one more time and try to get another Quinte eye but I have decided that the weather is just to crappy to risk the drive down towing a trailer with a boat on it. So I am going to put the boat to bed until ice out and hopefully that wont be to long, unless of course we have a nice warm spell ( sorry ice guys ) and I can get out once more but I doubt it.

Well I guess I will be trying to ice fish at some point.

Its crap outside right now with heavy squalls going through and windy.

For those of you who do get down there this weekend be careful and good luck.

I'm doin the same thing Don....we were going to head out on the river for some Muskies tomorrow, but last night's temps put a good jag of ice in the Bay here...puttin the boat away until next spring!!

My buddy in Hay Bay is going to keep his boat ready to go at the house until next weekend...if we get another chance, we'll head out for some Eyes, one last time!!

I'm going to spend the day cleaning out the ice shack and gettin' er ready for the season which hopefully will start before Christmas!!!

I agree putting your boat to bed for the season, is the saddest day of the year, but it appears you have many happy memories from this Fall which will only increase your anticipation for next year. The happiest day of the year will be when you bring her out next Spring - to make time go by faster, do as suggested and take up ice fishing. I got back into it two years ago as I was no longer skiing, and it sure helps to make for shorter Winters. Get to meet some great people too.

I will ice fish, but unfortunately I can not afford to go out and buy all the equiptment needed. Job situation is not good right now with my wife and I so no new purchases for a while. I will however eagerly await invites to fish in warm shacks!  hint hint

Thanks Steve, I will definitely take you up on your invite especially on Constance bay. And from the description you gave of your shack it seems I will be very comfortable since I am a wuss when it comes to winter.

BadgerShark:
It sure is a sad day when you winterize and put boat away for season, but from reports you had a great season especially on the Bay of Quinte. Thanks for the posts and pics. I'm sure many members have benefitted from info. I don't think you will have a shortage of invites for ice fishing !
