i was on that little lake right in haliburton a week ago on sled.BUT i wasnt slowing down to check thickness tho...(guess it woulda been a bad thing to find out lol) there was a dude fishing close to shore tho.... i dunno about the bigger lakes. im going to hit up a little one called Peach on friday and will post back/.
Hey there
Heading up to Hali tomorrow - plan on checking Loon Lake (Dudman Lake) of 118 to see what the ice is like - and will also drive by Boshkung and Kashawigimog so I can update on the conditions there as well.
Has anyone else been up that way (Minden/Haliburton/Bancroft) in the last week or so?

We didn't make it to hali - to much stuff to do prior to make the 2.5 hour drive worth it - 5 hours driving for 2 hours fishing (if the ice was good)
We hit Cooks Bay intstead for Perch and Pike - perch were hot, pike were not
There was about 25 groups fishing near us, and not one had a pike
Was a blast though - first time for me with my new gear, and not fishing in a permanent hut - just a bucket and a good snowsuit
in our group we caught about 30 - 40 per between 3 of us, most were between 5 - 7 inches with about 7 over 8 inches
Hoping to hit Loon Lake or kashawigamog next weekend
Cheers
Gordy
