Are all footpedals created equal?

You guys were so informative on the transducer question I figure someone would know the answer to this:

I hate the foot pedal on my trolling motor. Gotta push my heel down and backwards to start moving and twist my ankle sideways at the same time to turn. Pain in the $%^&*!!!

Are the motor and foot pedal married til death do them part, or can I file for divorce and get a more user friendly pedal?

That's no trolling motor - that's a torture machine!

What kind- make/model is it?

Minn Kota Turbo Pro
Model 712, 42 Lb thrust

Torture machine...good description. You need two feet on the same ankle to use it.

My complaint is they don't make the cable long enough. Should be long enough that you can sit in your Captain's chair and control it on the floor under the dash. Not have to be up on deck to control it. I'd use it a lot more if I could do that.

Or do they make extensions for them?? CCB?

WIG- you need a Minn Kota Co-Pilot remote, wireless system. You can control the TM from anywhere in your boat.
