Sat at petrie

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Sat at petrie

Post by Treble hook »

Hello all,
Very new to fish-hawk, and I am interested in the derby at petrie this weekend. Can I pre register or just show up early and sign in ? Another thing is do you have to wait untill the end of the day to measure the fish or take them in as you catch them. (never been in a tourny before).
Also best way to keep them alive if not measured untill the end. But I am guessing you can get them in at anytime to have less confusion at the end. Any info would be great cheers

Check the regulations at the top. Fish needs to be alive when measured. so bring a container to put water in . And get it measured ASAP.

Good morning Jason

you can register when you get there. We'll be there and ready for registrations at 6am.

you can weigh in anytime during the day, just as stated the fish MUST be alive (personally i would bring anything i thought had a chance at winning in to be weighed right away just in caseeee)

Look forward to seeing you there :)

Treble Hook,

A cooler with water in it for transport would be a good idea. This goes for everyone who's going to participate. Make sure you have some means of transporting the fish to the measuring station to keep them alive.

Info

I'm planning on going to this derby to help support this event. I would like info on the ice condition yes I have seen Seaweed comments, but I like to have it the day before, So I can say to my better haft that the ice condition is good so I can bring the young lad with me. If anyone is fishing alone why not hook-up I don’t bit just talk a lot about fishing the first few hours then I start serious fishing about 2:59pm lol

Good Luck

I took a drive down there last weekend and the ice was fine, lots of people out, pretty far too. I drove out with my small car and had no problems. See ya in the registration trailor.
