What makes the plastic on the Folbe's any better for big fish than say a Scotty PowerLock or equivalent?
I'm running a Traxstech rail system using Salty's for Musky and Scotty PowerLocks for everything else. Pretty similar to the Trojan setups but they seem to have more out of the box options available, at least on their website.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just received my S-17 Salty Bolt On Rod holders in the mail. They look great and very durable. I guess we'll see come November. I have to say I always receive great service from Rollie and Helen's Muskie Shop. Very quick delivery compared to a lot of other internet companies. Would enjoy seeing some pictures showing the locations all of you have your rod holders attached to your boats. Thanks again for the info.

I was trying to show the location of holders for trolling, not the type to use for musky as I have no idea what is used for those big tigers.
I spend over 300 hours a season on the water and use my rod holders every single trip out so over the years I have worked out pretty good placement for the holders.
I have included a picture below to try and show the areas that I place my holders on my boat. Multiple locations allow almost any setup and the ability to move rods around when you are trolling with more than one rod and a fish decides to run to the other side of the boat. I also like to have two holders towards the center of the back deck that allow rods to run straight out the back.

Hopefully some of the musky guys can add a few more suggestions and my image will help with walleye or a few other species.
The fun part is drilling all the holes on a new boat

I can't think of any other places than what you already have. Mine are at the back like your four and I have two in the front. Seems to be working well for me when I head out for eyes.
I mostly do bass but like to tackle eyes on occasion... I do need to add a couple big jons to mine for the laker's when I hit the lakes in the spring searching for those fast muscle monsters.
Yeah drilling holes can really play on the nerves... thats for sure!
