IS there any people that will get or try kayak fishing .

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I don't know about just going out for a paddle as the yaks are much faster than my float tube  I'd be interested in doing a little float tubeing adventure for some trout! :D

HI, I'm new..,

But I've tried lots of kayaks. The Sea kayak is nice for cruising buts its cumbersome... basically yaks, in my opinion are for local CRUISING. They're for settting up in a spot that you know and then returning.

Has anybody else had this happen to them? Last year, on the Ottawa, at the beach between Dunrobin and Constance a pike bit at my paddle! Scared me! Almost fell out of the yak.. I was trolling too... didn't go for the lure, went for my paddle!

hi mongolian..

so i see you got a kayak... :P

I think you can do a lot more wit it then you think...if its a full sea kayak it is a bit more tricky if its a rec kayak like we guys/gals got..you can get out there full day and catch tons off fish(all species).

you can go where any boat can't.

you got a pm..

joco sent me a link to a video where a person (the inventor I think) stands up and fly casts from one of these. It looked good in video but would like to hear from someone who has actually tried it.

The Native Ultimate 12 was quite a bit more stable than the 14.5. It is slightly smaller and sits a bit lower in the water with a solo paddler giving it a bit more stability.

I have stood in mine and with practice would likely feel comfortable. It was definitely MUCH more stable than standing in my canoe.

I went with the 14.5 to accomadate gear and dog for overnight/weekend camping, and the possibility of 2 up. If that is not a requirement the 12 would be a great fishing machine.
