Ice on Muskrat Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Ice on Muskrat Lake

Post by Bobby Shimano »

Hey, hows the ice breaking up on Muskrat Lake? With yesterday's warm temperature's it wont be long till the ice is gawne, and we will be fishing from the boat. I'll be putting mine in April 15th.

Too many fishing shows, and lectures, I need to...

Its melting ever so slowly, April 15th is the day. All this snow will be heavy and push the ice down into warmer water causing it to melt faster.

27 inches of ice is not a lot of ice actually. This is good news, it is melting as we blog. With the amount of snow we have had, and at the rate it will melt, this will lead to flooding in low lying area's. In turn will assist in the melting of the ice and as always, it will be gone by April 15th.
