FISH ‘N CHIPS CHARITY TOURNAMENT details

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

FISH ‘N CHIPS CHARITY TOURNAMENT details

Post by Andy_L »

Saturday August 16th 2008 will mark the first of what I hope will become an annual event. With the cooperation of Fish-Hawk and its members we are happy to bring to you a unique tournament, a fishing and golf day.

The day will begin at Baitcasters on Mississippi Lake with check-in/registration BEFORE 6am (we would prefer you to be ready to go by 6am on the water). You must compete as a team of 2, and that same 2 will play the golf portion as a team in the afternoon (If you don’t have a partner let us know and we’ll see if we can match you up with someone). You will be fishing for Bass, both large mouth AND small mouth. Your 4 largest fish (alive) will be weighed in and that weight will be deducted from your gold score to determine the winner. Weigh-in at 11:30am

Golf will begin at approximately 1:30pm and will be 9 holes in a scramble/best ball format with a shotgun start (full rules for the fishing and the golf will be posted and emailed to registered players). If you require a power cart, there are a very limited number available to rent (additional cost) and you can do so by calling the Scottish Glen Golf Course at 613-864-3783

A BBQ and awarding of prizes will follow once all golfers are off the course

Prizes will be awarded for:

Overall winner based on combination fishing and golf (team prize)

Largest single fish

Closest to the pin

Longest drive

If you happen to be the first person to get a hole in one on the par 3 third hole, you will win a very special prize…a BRAND NEW SMOKERCRAFT fishing boat with a MERCURY 50HP 4-STROKE engine with a value of approx. $16,000. Courtesy of the tournament organizing committee and Lake and Trail Marine!!!

Cost of entry is $65 per person, please register as a team of 2.

Registration is VERY limited so if you want a chance at some nice prizes and a shot at a new boat, register early.

You can email your registration to Andy_L@fish-hawk.net or send me a PM as well. However your spot will not be locked in until your payment is received. You can do that by arranging to meet me, by mail (I will give you a mailing address) or by dropping off payment to Crystal at Baitcasters. In your email/PM please provide me with your FULL NAME, user nickname, Address, phone number and return email address.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to Hopewell (www.hopewell.ca)

Great idea for a tournament, wish I could attend - but I will be fishing the PWT Can-Am Super Pro the same weekend. Should try to make this a yearly event.

well Steve, the reason being, what you posted is a get together etc which is great and i love those as well. I stickied this here, to get some extra exposure temporarily because this is to raise money for a charity and is a fish-hawk members event. I don't intend to leave it here until august...I just want people to be aware that the event is coming and should be a ton of fun :)

There IS a difference in the 2 "events" ....that being said, if its a huge issue, I'll move it as well....not a big deal :)

Hello Andy,

Just wanted to thank you for a job very well done on this weekend's past Fins and Skins event.

While there were a lot of last minute cancellations, most likely due to summer vactions and stuff, the day was an absolute blast. Everyone that I spoke to really seemed to enjoy it and had a great time.

Next time however I think I'll need to practise my golf swing.

Oh, and Crystal......you beat me up on the golf course, that's for sure. Great job and I'll be the first to admit it.

Cheers and thanks again for a great day.
