Wolliston Lake
Wollaston
Hey Dursky, I've been in this area for almost 20 years now and Wollaston lake has been sadly overfished and fish population depleted for many years now....There was a time when Trout were plentiful (natural, not stocked)...but that was many years ago.....its very rare to catch a laker now. Someone introduced Pike about 15years ago and they've sort of taken over.....but not in great numbers.....
Wollaston is divided into Three sections...1) Main lake 2) narrows lead to 2nd lake (smaller than main lake) and 3) narrows (very shallow) lead you
to a third lake (smaller than Main and 2nd lake)......
Fish can be caught but plan on a whole day and you won't probably catch your limit.
Sidenote: Main Street CoeHill has Tom's Bait shop....be prepared for "old school bait shop talk" Very Friendly hints and tips but don't mention Canadian Tire...he dislikes the Big Box stores....
A Larger (and in my opinion better) lake is one you will drive past if you're taking hwy 620 from Apsley (just off the 28)...This lake is called Chandos....and from all accounts has a greater supply of Bass,Pike and Trout.....
Hope this bit of advice helps.....Cheers,Poozymo
