Anyone have a fishing report from Dozois reservoir??
Thinking of heading up next weekend (Dorval Lodge end of the lake). I have never been there. Anyone been up there recently??? Hoping for some good pike and walleye.

Don't have a fishing report, but fishing should be good. The fishing is usually good up there. I know a special lake which is very hard to access where you catch 200 walleye in a few days easily.
Takes about 8 hours to drive in on the AWFUL logging roads though, and you wouldn't want to break down there, no one would tow you out, you would be out of a vehicle. lol.
But the Dozois should be good. My father fishes the Cabonga reservoir area too and the fishing is usually good but can be slow at times, was much better years ago, everyone is flocking up there to fish all the time now you see.......
I went up to Lac Parent in Senneterre about 5 years ago. We didn't fish in the town but further north on the road to Chibougamou and we didn't catch a damned thing the entire weekend.
We did however see 2 old guys netting sturgeon by the million. It was rather upsetting. They had huge nets that spanned 100's of meters and as we drove by they were waving their hands trying to warn us about their nets, anyways, when we went by we saw at least 50-100small sturgeon in their boat. Very upsetting to me.
Netting is a pretty cheap way to catch fish. Wouldn't have upset me so much if they were netting northern pike (no offence to pike lovers but there is so many pike everywhere)'
Good luck on your trip to the Dozois, it's a nice place with lots of fishies! Get some nice Walleye meals.......

I was there for the Canada Day weekend, at the Outaouais Campground. Fishing was hard/tough, but I heard that from everyone there... Still brought back our limits and fished a full day of catch & release.
Dorval should be good for you... you can get a guide if you're having a hard time.
Good luck and take pics!
