Bearing Buddies

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

right size?

Post by mitch »

Be carefull about the size you put on. My initial replacement was with a standard 1" bearing. When I came to putting them on I could have whacked them on as well but was aware that bearings should easily slip on. I took out my calipers and sure enough the axle measured at 1 and 1/16 of an inch. A call to national bearings in Kingston confirmed that they did have that size in stock.

I'm not talking about wacking the bearrings in place. You're right, they should easily slip on. I was talking about the bearing buddies. For most of them, the only thing holding them in place is friction so they fit in pretty tight.
