PLACES TO FISH ? Handicap

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

PLACES TO FISH ? Handicap

Post by gogolfer99 »

Have asked this in previous years but always looking for new locations. My wife loves to fish but has problems standing for long periods so we need a place to set up lawnchair. An hour or so from Ottawa or maybe an overnighter if we can get a place that accepts small dogs. Been to Calabogie, Morris Island and Packenham this year. Lots of Pike and the odd pickerel.
Thanks for any help

If you have a boat, send me a private message and I can suggest a ton of places you can camp and fish with your camper and truck etc.

Maybe a provincial park would be a good place to go.........Or up to Quebec to some of the nice lakes in La Reserve Faunique Papineau Labelle, or Lac Ste. Marie which is only 1 hour from downtown ottawa and you can camp right down near the boat launch there is a grassy area and camp fire and peopel camp there alot.

Some nice lakes are Charleston Lake, and Big Rideau Lake because these have provincial parks with access for the disabled. But you kind of need a boat to fish well there.

You are kind of prevented from finding anywhere good to fish and camp because it doesnt sound like you have a boat..........

Sure I can recommend you somewhere AMAZING to camp where you would be in awe of it's beauty, but you would not have a boat to fish from and shore fishing in these spots is quite difficult and boring.

If you just want to go for camping and not serious fishing. I would recommend SANDBANKS provincial Park.

It's literally as beautiful as Wasaga Beach......It's a very special area and I love to camp there. The sand dunes stretch for miles on end.....plus you could do day trips to Belleville which is 30 mins away and you could shore fish the MOIRA river in belleville....

Tell us more about the areas you are interested in most, and what you look for in a camp ground and what kind of amenities you guys need. Tell us more about what you want to fish for, and if you have a boat or if you just want to shore fish casually or seriously.

Hopefully we can help you find somewhere you'll like and have a good time at.

Send me a private message telling me your criteria and I will throw some suggestions at you and see what you think.

Take care,

==Tom==
