Mississippi 8th May

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Holy jeezus boys, did ya catch a few fish? I haven't seen a plate a fish like that since I was a kid fishing in Manitoba.

Nice walleye pic too!!

Nice to see everybody having a good day.

It was so cold and windy out there at times that Bacon had more than just his thong on.

Great haul of crappies! I usually like to set a goal of a pail full, i see you set your goals a little higher with the trailer.

I'll cook em! No problem there.

I'm hoping we'll have lots of fresh fillets though too. Also, not only have I never targeted walleye....I've never even seen one before! I really want to catch one, fillet him and cook it up fresh. Not long now.

I think big-o makes a valid point there in that we did throw a heck of a lot back and we were selective about which ones to take home.. I know i had my limit of 15 and they both had thiers of 20 but i don't think anyone was out to get a limit it was just that good.

Eyetracker i think a pair of those rod holders will probably end up on big-os boat. when he told me about the other ones it sounded like it could get exspensive to say the least.

Eyetracker i know what you mean about that point i noticed a lot of fish being marked and tried to stay on the 10ft drop off and slightly off the weed... i don't troll too much which is why i went around in circles half a dozen times   but i got the hang of it again after not doing it for so long... still when you mainly fish deeped water and have to go seaching for something that won't get caught up all the time it's a bit of a pain.. it looks like i've found a gap in my lures which i probably need to resolve..

I think one point i would make is that if anyone ever is looking to get a trolling motor spend a little more and get the aoutpiolt version as i can see how that would make life a lot easier.

Hey guys..fun day!!
I want to say thanks to RJ..had a great day with him and as he said we didn't weigh in any fish ...we had picked up 3 Pike but the total weight of two would have only pushed maybe 2.5 lbs so we letem go knowing that wasn't gonna win us anything without Walleye in the livewell!
Congrats to MT and MT senior for winning the 50 - 50 draw and congrats to all the winners but especially to My stepfather Brian Miller and his partner Don Fuller for placing 3rd...I think only 2oz. behind Fish-Hawk and Mick! Brian and Don weighed in and left at 2pm.. they still had 2 hours to fish....Oh well, I know they had fun as I think did everyone else that braved the cold and the wind!!!

It's really nice to see some Hawk-Talkers and their family members placing so well in the tourney. Good for you, guys. Great crappie catches, too!

Had a great time with M.T. Livewell Sr.
Nice to see everyone else out as well.

Sure wish the tourney had been on Sunday (as far as weather goes). But as Crystal said, this was one of the nicest weather days for this opening season tourney she has seen in years.

A pound of pike is hardly enough to change my user name. Especially since Dad caught her. :? Funny, I remembered myself being a much better fisherman.

BTW, couldn't miss the bass. You'll never find them like that on bass touney day of course.

Congrats guys.
