Is it a gimick?
I have a humminbird matrix 10 and a hand held gps I can get an adapter to run the gps through the sonar. Any thoughts? I dont want to take away power from the sonor to see the gps on the screen.

No Gimick...
If your hand held GPS sends NEMA data then you can use your Matrix 10 as a GPS. All the GPS is sending is location Data to the matrix, so you can not control the GPS with the Matrix or save waypoints, tracks or routes on the hand held. All of this new data (Watpoints, Tracks and Routes) would be saved on the matrix10. You can use software on your PC like Fugawi to merge all of the data and save it to both the handheld GPS and the Matrix 10. The advantage of the Matrix 10 is you will get a bigger screen for your GPS...but if you are using mapping data it's built in map is not that great.
