McLaurin Bay is on '' Fire '' again ........Rainy Report

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

McLaurin Bay is on '' Fire '' again ........Rainy Report

Post by Bass Addict »

Well folks if you want some serious action ,, head on over to McBay...
Even with the forecast calling for rain tonight I couldn't resist giving the bay a try , And man i made the right decision.

Got there at 5:00 pm and within 20 minutes caught 8 snakes and 3 bass
:o :o :? :?

The bass were on fire couldn't believe it, I look around and I have the whole bay to myself

Image

Most of the bass were in 5 to 7 fow and they were absolutely smashing
the 1- 1/4 oz white spinner bait

I grab the cell phone and give 24/7 a call and say to him get to the Bay
right

Now , his response was I can't make it i'm at the bingo with my
girlfriend

Later on I noticed a little disturbance in the water i get a little closer and it was a school of mudpouts up at the surface :? look over to the right and
there was my friend Baldy

Image

Look over to my left there was my other friend Flippen

I was going to get him to snap a couple of pics but it was raining a little hard at the time so i took a couple of pics with the bass still in the livewell

Image

Tonight a hour and a half produced 10 snakes and 8 two pound bass

All I can say is ...........Come one , Come all to McBay A.KA. Fish Factory

8) 8) 8)

I'm a little curious...please don't take this the wrong way.

Why do you livewell the bass you catch.....do you keep them to eat? I notice some of you guys taking pics with 4 of them in your hands so is that the reason you keep them in the well?

I always throw them right back so I'm just wondering what your motivation is?

Cheers!

your just jeleous that I can go fishing everyday and you can not.
plus when I get only two hours to fish I am not going to drive twenty minutes when it will only take me 5mins from door to fishing, when I go to the bay. I was on the river all summer this year. This usually a good time to get out on the bay and there are no boats and alot of bass.

BB444,

seems as though the spinnerbait treated you well, as it did with Justin H. I am hoping that by the time I get back to my fishing hole in 2 wks, it won't be too late to fish a spinnerbait, as it's one of my favorites.

You three bassing nuts are just too funny with the BINGO stories and accounts of being thrown overboard...

sadly .. the part about falling overboard is ... true ...

i went out fishing last week end with my buddy and 45 minutes later i had to leave ... FLOODED to the NECK ...

i was driving with my foot on reverse ... my foot being half in the boat balancing the other foot on the seat ... every thing was going fine AS usual

i usualy fish like this all day ... with my hand trolling motor ... i dont have the ones with the pedal ...

so i throw a cast .... and this fallen tree ... there a branch about 10 feet out of it and it gets me EVERYTIME i think its a hit i got to set the hook... SPLASH!!!

RIGHT in the cold MCLAURIN BAY!!

the sad part was the wallet beeing flooded other than that i FLEW right back in the boat and my buddy was laughing his HEAD OFF!

i was laughing too but lost the day of fishing tho... :x

i knew this was going to happen sooner or later...

lesson lived is a leeson learned ... ALWAYS bring spare clothing!!! :D
