Went out on Saturday wasn't happy!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

According to Rockland Parks and Recreation web site:

http://www.clarence-rockland.com/englis ... d_rec.html
For more information, contact Thérèse Lefaivre, Director, Parks, Recreation and Culture.
Go to web page for the email address.

I have sent an nice (not nasty) well written email to Thérèse.

If you feel really strong about this I would suggest you do something about it. Send an email as well.

Cheers,

Mike

Rising Prices

Post by Seaweed »

OK

Wake up time.

Did anyone check out the price of gas this morning? Did anyone get a hydro bill this month? Did anyone get a City of Ottawa taxatation notice yet?

I guess what I am trying to say is that everything is on the rise..... and we can probably expect anything that hasn`t gone up to go up.

I personally paid almost another $100 more this year for storage and launch fees from the place I keep my boat.... but it still is the cheapest deal in town and they did agree to let me build a temporary shelter for it...

I too could get totally miffed at the rising costs of things and no doubt I will pop a vien soon and someone is going to get a rash of very annoying calls ..... but until then I will just prod along like a good little Canadian and just eat the cost.

Quite frankly if you want to see change I think one of the brightest people who share regularily on this board more than clearly illustrated that the absolute best way to effectively complain is to write phone email, pester, annoy, pee pee off and otherwise make the life of your local politician a living hell. You want change ..... then insist on it ... an then back it up when you hit the poles in the upcoming elections.

No one but them.... can change the way we are being gouged on a daily basis. Let them know that.

I hear your woes. This very topic was raised last year at this time (by me). Living in Rockland, last year I still prefered to travel the extra 10 minutes to Wendover. However, this year, with the cost of gas, it ends up being cheaper for me to buy a pass.

Do I like it? Not one bit. But as long as we continue giving them our money, they will continue to take it. Supply and demand. Your next closest options are Cumberland (launch is brutal) and Wendover (add 10 minutes onto your drive if coming from the city and little parking).

I am a good Canadian. I'm gonna lie down and play dead and take it up the wazoo. Why, cause I can't stand politics. And it is tough to vote out a party, cause they are all crooks!!! :!:
