planning a musky trip ?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

BROADCASTING it out over the internet with thousands of lurkers looking for lakes to harvest the fish out of them!......think  about it!!
Yeah , just take McLaurin Bay for instance ,, there is people coming from
all around the world to fish that Bay because of certian F-Hawkers putting
daily reports about how good the fishing is there :P :P :P

When do the "MONSTER" pike start biting in that Bay??? When the ice season starts??.....I'd like to try the 5 tip-ups that Jacques made for me :D ... 5 lines each  ...I can hardly wait!!....but we'll use your auger...I've been told that there are a lot of beer bottles and debris in the ice

Hmm...well I don't know if I necessarily agree with this statement. I mean really if you think about it, there are always going to be experienced fisherman who can just read water and with the technology around these days will be able to find fish in no time. I don't know if the Bay is a huge secret anyways to be quite honest, and to further that point, I don't even know if tight lips on here will really have an effect on it.

I guess I'm of a different breed. If I know of a good spot, I don't mind shelling out that information, because the favor is usually returned anyways.

Just my opinion I guess.
Heremygo: The way you just said it is the way I thought for a long time...I still feel that way to a degree for say the water itself if it is large enough..like the Ottawa or Lake O but when you get specific about the spots, you are looking for a lot more fishing pressure...Now as for small little lakes etc, I will never say those names again. A good example is one lake I fish every winter and summer near my cottage...past few years there were always people fishing it but now I go there in the summer when no one fished it and bang...5 boats in this lake the size of 2 football fields...Now is this because I said something on the net, maybe may be not but it is a lot more busy then it used to be. Some people will easily mention where they were like MCBay etc and if that is what they want to do then so be it but I have learned that lesson. Now again I do not know if it is lurkers or what it is but it is just too funny how this happens.

That's why you call them lurkers BA, they don't post 'cause they're not even members here... they just take all the free info and pictures of your successful outings and piece together some great fishing without having to put in the legwork or time.

One thing is for sure, we don't all have the same attitude when it comes to sharing info on a public forum. If you don't mind giving away your favourite spots to complete strangers at least have people PM you for that info, that way they have to at least be members of FH and even then only give them the info if they have a post count of 50 or something... make sure they are contributing members of the site.

I agree with bucketmouth. I don't post often, but that is largely due to the fact that most of you have far more interesting outings than I do. I enjoy reading about everyones adventures and advice, but I do think that some information must be earned. :D
