A reminder to be careful

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

A reminder to be careful

Post by Terry_F »

I read this on another board this morning.
For everyone who fishes late into the season, please be careful of slippery docks due to ice.

My thoughts go out to this guys family, and I don't want to have to think about any of my chums from this site getting hurt.

TRENTON, Ont. - The body of a man believed to be in his 30s has been discovered at a marina in Trenton, Ont.

The man had apparently gone fishing at the marina on Thursday but failed to return home. Emergency personnel said his mother went looking for her son and discovered the body early today.

Sources also say it appears the man may have slipped off a dock at the downtown Fraser Park Marina after tying off a boat.

Police have not yet released the man's name.

I wear my Float suit everytime out this time of year. Put it on before even launching the boat. The water is just too cold now to have to try and stay a float while adjusting for the cold water.

No matter what time of year, you should always let someone know where you are going and when you are going to be home. You never know when you need someone to come look for you.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike, do you not find the flotation suit awful warm this time of year? I keep thinking I should have mine on but it can get awful hot with it on. I wear a good quality full size life jacket though!

Just a T-shirt required. You can always unzip it a touch as well. Mornings are cool it is only mid-day, for a couple hours where it does get a bit warm.
