WOULD YOU KILL A RECORD MUSKY..?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Is your willy that small that you need to hang something on the wall to fell better about your life.
Quit speculating on what happened to the "SAD SIGHT AT BLAIR"...unless you performed an autopsy, you don't KNOW...for all we know it could have lost a battle with a boat prop

A tag will do absolutely nothing......also, how will C & R only regs, "keep the walleye angler from keeping a 8 lb ski" work if the same walleye angler (that you have personally seen) keeps a fish that has a present min length regulation of 54" :? :? :???....that person has no respect for the rules and regulations and will continue to break the law...DID YOU REPORT WHAT YOU SAW to the Authorities????????????????????

Crusty wrote:Why not just make the muskie fishery catch and release only and take away any temptations. If your after something to hang on the wall go shoot a deer. It burns me to to see any size muskie being caught and kept by people. I for one am in favor of a muskie tag to be sold in addition to a licence. kindda like a deer tag. This would keep the everyday, unexperienced, unequipped angler from attempting to catch muskie. It is harder for people to keep an undersized if they know they cant keep them regardless of size. You don't see anyone stuffing a sturgon.
I wasn't going to participate in this thread...but are you suggesting we have a tag system for a C&R fishery??

A tag would probably have the opposite effect.

People WOULD keep a trophy to "fill" their tag.

Best thing to do is just continue to educate people and keep getting the word out.

not knowing the diff. between replicas and reel time texidermy....

IF i would hook into a SERIOUSE beast i would properly mersure it...

and IF it would be longer than 60'' wich i dought there is in the ottowa. after reading this thread.

only then i would consider keeping it ... not to hang but to put in a real nice glass cofee table ...

then i would go get a nice walleye and get that stuffed to!

put both in the table on a piece of wood. and enjoi it and make up stories for the young ones! 8)

.......................................day dreaming here.........................

Jees... maybe its time for a mount!:)

honestly if you did catch the record there would be grief on both sides. ( catch and release) I wish someone would so all the past record BS could be put to rest

This Fish-hawk is a fine long lived site...people come people go..

Way to go FH!

I would keep the aforementioned "World Record Muskie" alive...
contact the mnr ,get it officially weighed..
reap all the accolades attributed to it...
untold wealth,fame,free pizza

then i'd probably wake up and find it was all a dream..
