No Trout Yet, but lotsa Pike!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

No Trout Yet, but lotsa Pike!

Post by Splake_Hunter »

With the trout ice not quite thick enough for my liking on my usual stomping grounds, we've hit a smaller pike lake a couple times with good success.

Boxing Day we landed 10, mostly hammer handles, the biggest 5.5 lbs, 28".

New Year's Day was a little slower with 6 caught, the biggest 6.5 lbs, 32". 7" of black ice and you could watch them swim away when released, pretty cool.

Another decent one from New Year's Day.

I'm hoping to hit the trout water's soon, will keep you posted
