calabogie

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

calabogie

Post by RBKizzel »

I am heading up to Calabogie this weekend to hit one of my fav lakes for some bows.
Has anyone been up yet?

Also I was thinking about going to Limestone only fished there once, but had no luck. Anyone have any tips or tricks on that lake? Worms , minnows, jigs corn?

I guess the ice thickness is comparable to around here?

thanks

I was in Calabogie area today, hit a Splake lake and a well knows Bow lake.... NOTHING AT EITHER.... on the Splake lake ther were two guys who had caught a 3-4 pound splake and a 1-1.5 pounder.... but they caught them at sunrise and the fishing shut right dowm after that.

BTW.... MNR were out there and I got checked!

Glad to hear the MNR was out. As for the spec lake, the morning bite is typical, the same as in soft water season.

You'll find pretty much the same action in winter as summer. I've caught fish just about everywhere I've cut a hole there. Size can be hard to find but action certainly isn't.
