Muskrat Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Muskrat Lake

Post by RBKizzel »

a few questions about Muskrat.
1) is the ice in good condition?
2) are you allowed live bait?
3) are you allowed to keep a "laker" if one is caught (i know that some lake they have to be realesed)?
4) is there a bait shop close by?

heading out this sunday if the conditions are right. anybody else heading that way?

if so i will see you there :D

1, I am unsure, some lakes here are pushing 18 inches of ice and with the cold weatehr coming it should be good.

2, Yes, you can use live bait.

3, Yes, you can keep 2. No slot size.

4, Yes, bait is available in Pembroke at Allans Bait and Tackle.

Which area of the lake are you heading to? I am going to the lake tomorrow for a ice check.

I was out there on Sunday. Did not get anything worth talking about. Lots of shacks out and about and trucks on the ice. Had a solid 12 inches of black ice where we were at. Good luck on the weekend.

Cheers

The weather is changing daily....

10-15 cm of snow becomes 2-4....

They can't seem to get it right!

I think they need to go back the weather fella with the chalk and chalk board.. he was always bang on.. Way to much techno now a days for them to get it straight..

All I know is that every day is a potential good day if you can wet your line and not freeze up to much!

Chalk Board Weather

Post by Braeside »

I'm surprized Prior Guy remembers that he got up this morning...

PERCY HAS LEFT THE BUILDING

Percy Philip Saltzman passed away, quietly in his sleep, in the early morning hours of Monday, January 15th, 2007.
He will be remembered by his loving family and his many, many fans.

Percy Saltzman was the first face on Canadian TV when on September 8, 1952, CBC TV inaugurated English language broadcasting in Canada.

Percy lasted 30 years (1952-1982) during which he surfed the airwaves with 9000 weather performances (6000 TV, 3000 radio) plus 1000 interviews.

During his career Percy Saltzman garnered the Order of Canada; a seat in the Canadian Broadcasting Hall of Fame; and the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and China's accolade as the world's first weather entertainer.

Percy conned the CBC into giving him the air in the first place. "Who wants to watch a talking head spouting weather? Or even doing News?", they said. Like Hollywood, nobody knew nothing about nothing.

Percy Saltzman started TV Weather in glorious black and white, with a thick piece of chalk, a blackboard map, glasses without glass, a motor mouth, and a farewell flip, all larded with ham and schmaltz.

Each night when Percy finished his frantic three-minute weather blast, the map and he were coated in a thick cloud of chalk dust. Instant chaos they called Percy Saltzman.
