I rig them with a 4/0 extra wide gap (EWG) hook. A heads up would be to use a Mustad Ultra Point hook. These hooks hold the bait in place much better than a Gamakatsu. If you compare these hooks at the store you'll see why.

try wacky rig also.Put the hook in the middle...this is geared towards bass thow

Texas or wacky...You don't need to add weight to these. The plastic is heavy enough that you can still cast it. The lack of weight also gives a nice finesse action to the bait.

Bewrkley's sinking minnow is their version of the Senko. Have a read of the article.
