This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I sent an email to the company to ask about warranties and they said it exceeds all specifications for motor oil and that it would not void your warranty. I also saw a post on Bass Boat Central from a guy in the States who was running a 1992 175 Mariner that in his words coughed and sputtered and smoked the place out every time he started it until it warmed up. After using Blue Marble for 3 months the motor fires up smooth and doesn't smoke. I am waiting for someone to try it as well so let us know if you do! Sounds like a great product.

Ontario BASS Federation Proudly Announces New Sponsor
PRESS RELEASE
April 19, 2004
For Immediate Release:

As one of Ontario’s leading conservation organizations, the Ontario BASS Federation (OBF) is pleased to announce a new sponsorship deal with EcoMotorsport, the Ontario distributor of Blue Marble 2 cycle oil just in time for the 2004 fishing and boating season. This innovative product will offer anglers a clean, environmentally responsible alternative to the conventional oil normally used to power their 2 cycle outboards.

Blue Marble is an extremely high quality mineral oil based lubricant that uses metal conversion technology to provide superior protection for outboards and other 2 cycle or 4 cycle engines. Because of Blue Marble’s highly refined white mineral oil base it is biodegradable. Blue Marble burns cleaner in the piston chamber and the rest of the exhaust air path as well. It eliminates carbon build up and plug fouling. Blue Marble contains no aromatics, leaves considerable less odour and virtually no smoke or oil sheen on the water. It is suitable for all sizes of outboards regardless of year. In fact some anglers with older outboards have reported that after switching to Blue Marble it takes just a few tanks of gas to notice substantially reduced smoke and noxious odours even when trolling all day.

Although Blue Marble offers anglers a clean alternative to conventional outboard oil it does not lack in the performance department. In fact, Blue Marble achieves extraordinary results in wear resistance, improved power, fuel mileage, and reduced emissions. It also reduces friction so that an outboard will run cooler and in the long run this should increase engine life. Blue Marble’s independent laboratory tests showed a reduction of friction of up to 87.5 %. Blue Marble stands behind their product offering more then the standard liability limited to the cost of the product used clauses. Blue Marble offers a full damage replacement warranty with Blue Marble usage according to recommended guidelines.

Blue Marble is not your typical bargain-basement priced motor oil. Bob Tytaneck of EcoMotorsport explained” Blue Marble is competitively priced with other high-end outboard oil and lubricants. Tournament anglers and other avid boaters who switch to Blue Marble should experience vastly improved fuel economy--as much as 30% has been reported! So, when using Blue Marble, the savings resulting from the improved fuel economy and reduced engine maintenance, more than offset the higher price level. People who try it know first hand that the benefits are very real, and combined with Blue Marble’s environmentally friendly nature, they become customers for life”.

OBF President Bob Peters reported ”Our partnership with Blue Marble supports our mission of conservation and environmental diligence while actually improving the performance of our outboard engines. This can be critical in competitive fishing where time and speed are so important. “We are thrilled to be associated with the Ontario BASS Federation” commented Bob Tytaneck and concluded that “Their commitment to conservation and the environment is a perfect fit with the environmental friendly aspects of Blue Marble.” In addition to providing OBF members with discounts on Blue Marble purchases, EcoMotorsport will contribute $2.00 for every gallon sold to OBF members for their local chapters. “This program ensures that the benefits of our partnership with EcoMotorsport can assist the environmental work of all chapters within the OBF”, said Bob Peters.

I have not tried it in an outboard but heard positive feedback from use in other 2-strokes. As for some of the claims... Anyone that knows anything about 2-stroke technology will tell you that oil alone will not increase fuel economy. Also the injection system is calibrated to use oil at a predetermined ratio so there's no savings there. The only benefit I see is less smoke/carbon which will contibute to performance. Sightly more environmentally friendly is a plus too.
