Second time out...second time being skunked!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Second time out...second time being skunked!!!

Post by Mr.Tackle »

So I've been out twice in the past two weeks both times looking for some walleye. First two week-ends ago I was up by Centenial lake (I think thats how its spelt) with my father in law and his brother. We fished all day only to catch a little eye. Kinda dissapointing but I had a great time non the less it being my first time out and all.
Then just today I was out in pembroke by on the Ottawa River and what a day that was. It was the first time I had ever taken the truck out on the ice and got it stuck on a little snow bank. I tried and tried to get it out but my tires were spinning on pure ice. I have to say I was poopin bricks. Thankfully a few of the guys who were out gave me a hand and we got'er out....needless to say I think I'll walk out next time. As for the fishing I had a nibble but no bites. Just when the eyes would have started bitting at sunset my wife called me and told me one of the pipes burst in our basement so I had to go rushing home. I am very happy to announce that my basement didnt flood but we deffinatly have some mopping to do!!! So thats twice out this year and twice skunked. I might be going out on friday again so we'll see how that goes...I'll keep you guys posted on how I do. Have to say even though I'm not catching anything I'm still lovin the ice fishing...I just think its great that I can fish regardless of the weather!!! Happy fishin everyone!!!

Sounds like a great idea...a club for all those who have felt the aggravation of being skunked...I like it. :D

Dead on Plncrzy, as the oxygen in our lakes deplete, it's a must to downsize to get inactive fish to bite. The flasher plays a big role in determining the mood fish are in.

Good on you for getting out Mr.Tackle :)
