trolling motor control

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

trolling motor control

Post by fisher »

Hello everyone,
once again I am looking for some advice, here is my problem.
I have installed a new minkota all terrain 55lbs on my boat, works great and have enough power, but is very sensitive on turning.spcially on high speed, like very loose and if you take your foot off the padel it will turn by it self and does not go straight.it there any way of tighting the steering(stainless steel cable drive)syestem or this is normal?
thanks :?

Fisher: underneath where the cables come out of your foot control, there should be a set screw for tension adjustment of your cables. Tighten this carefully, as too much tension can snap off the cable wheel inside your foot control.
