You forgot a season there Mon Chum...............'' Winter '' = Big Golden Shiners

I know first hand it can get real expensive using these , ie like this winter it cost us a fortune using those Monster Golden Shiners , Probably a couple of hundred dollars each............

At a dollar each it doesn't take long to add up
Man....you can say that again Paul!!!.....damn LARGE Golden Shiners probably ran me a few hundred dollars this winter   :x

Thats why were concentrating more on Whities from now on...

Williams Wobbler's are much cheaper and last forever...

Husky Jerks work well for me as well as Cyclops and DD croc spoon. Mepps comet minnow also, last yr a yozuri minnow with a yellow stripe killed, ya never know. Have good luck with Rapala jointed in clown, but spinnerbaits haven't worked in a few yrs, maybe from overuse. What a great response, thanks guys.

Hookup wrote: The SEX DUNGEON fly is something I found this winter online.. (don't even ask what I was searching for...) I want to tie some in small ish sizes, say 1"-2" overall length... I also think that the beads can be used as noise-makers if done right... so when you strip it it slides under water a bit, makes topwater disturbance and clacks along...
:D
I won't ask as requested...

Some really interesting flies on the site that Todd linked to.
I've never seen any quite like the jointed ones. The last 4 years I've been wanting to try for bass or pike with the fly rod - but I mostly have buggers and muddlers, and a few stone flies. Only 2 poppers in my fly box... usually put the fly rod away once laker season opens.

Maybe this summer I'll finally give my #9 weight fly rod a go for Pike.
Thanks for the info Todd and Hookup...

For a relaxing day of piking I like a big minnow (dead or alive) on a slip float setup. For days when I am not so lazy I like a spinnerbait, buzz bait or jerk bait. As a kid all we threw was a red/white daredevil. As bass tourney guys will tell you a pike hits anything and usually does when you least expect it.

My all time favorite is a 1 1/8 oz silver minnow in silver or gold. It works well in weeds or open water and can be fished fast or slow.
WeedWalker - any size or colour for heavily weeded areas.
Suspending Rattling Rogue, blue and silver with orange belly.
