3rd Worst Day of my Life!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

3rd Worst Day of my Life!!!

Post by Question Man?? »

Went Fishing for Carp yesterday stopped paying attention for 2 seconds. Next thing I know gone in the water! Rod Reel I just bought the rod a week ago. One of those Storm Thunderstick. Too bad the ten year warranty didn't cover that. All I remember was trying to reach for it one last time!!!! Never using a stick again to hold my rod!!!!

Sorry to hear about your rod Shipsy3.

When I put my rod I always make sure the bail is open....because as you just learned, things are bond to happen when you least expect it.

:D Check the spot where you were fishing if you were down in the park. Half the river is shallow and it may not be too far off shore when the water clears.

 Well there you have it, the best business case for not spending too much on fishing equipment.

Maybe it wasn't a Carp at all...

Sorry to hear of your loss but I love your story. I had the same thing happen to me---twice. But I recovered my equipment. One situation and
my grandson still laughs about it. Fishing a small pond in Dufferin Islands nature area in Niagara Falls and wasn't paying attention as I was helping my grandson climb a tree. Looked back and saw the rod being pulled into the water. Pulled the boy out of the tree and jumped into the pond and grabbed the rod as it was going under. Passed the rod to the lad and he had a great time laughing and playing the fish. He never landed the fish. Thank goodness it was a warm summer day. Fish was probably a carp as the pond is loaded.
