Huge Fallfish!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Huge Fallfish!

Post by FishingIsHealing »

I went fishing tonight, and a couple of other guys came down and fished with me. We caught 3 big fallfish, but mine was the biggest. Sad to say but 3 of them died, because they literally swallowed the hook, and mine was hooked fine but threw itself of the hook and landed on some rocks and started to bleed internally, and I couldn't do anything to revive the fish so sadly it died.

Here is a pic of the big Fallfish....Beer bottle next to it for size.

I have a bunch of pics of out of season fish too but I can't show them I guess? Isn't that the rule on here?

I went fishing with "CityIt" and we caught a bunch of bass and pike, crappie, bluegill etc.

Went fishing with MarcTheFishermen in his boat, and we had a run in the Rideau.

Anyways, I guess I can't post the pics since they are out of season.

So far every fish hawk member I've met has been cool.

Take Care everyone!

Here is some pics of the "Haunted Mill" I cross over there at night sometimes and take pics and look out for the "ghost" lol.

I am always fishing with worms, and a jig head medium sized or smaller, or Slow Death Hooks, or Circle Hooks.

But I love the slow death ones!

I missed out on a 35+ inch pike . I was reeling in a Perch, and the Pike hit it and I was dragging it to shore and it was maybe1 ft from me and it let go! :P

I also missed out on another little 20incher at my other spot while reeling in a perch. lol.

Everything is biting, Bullhead, Pike, Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Perch, Muskie!

When I was fishing with MarcTheFisherMan in his boat, I had a small baby MUSKIE! on the hook but it got off when I got it up to the boat.

The bite has started! Only thing I haven't got is Walleye!

Take Care!

Seemed bigger in real life. It was a monster.

Too bad it died.

IT fought VERY hard, almost as good as a bass even! I might think about breaking out the fly rod for the first time. I've never used one but I think it's time.

Big Fallfish are equal to Bass in fight almost. Strong Fish, a Cyprinid I believe, in the same family as Carp or Suckers?

Big Creek Chubs almost...

They look kinda like WHITEFISH or a Cisco. They are weird looking.

Anyways, I'm off to sleep, I'm beat....

Cheers!

Big fallfish are fun on a fly rod. They are quite plentiful at the bottom of the Long Island rapids.

Too bad they aren't the toughest fish in the water. But the dead ones make good catfish bait.

I read the record fallfish for Ontario is 2.34lbs or something.

could be close to a record for Ontario :P It was really fat and heavy, but then again, i'm not good at judging fish, I should get a scale!
