Wireless Trolling Motor

Looking for advice or recomendations on a wireless trolling motor.
Minkota or Motorguide

Its going on a 14' aluminum

I can give you some feedback on my Motorguide 55 lb Wireless unit. This is my third summer using this motor. The wireless units from Motorguide are only available in bow mount. The speed increments are great, there are over 20 speeds in fwd so it allows you to be very precise.

My boat is a 16' and it will move it very nicely with the stock prop. They make the same series in a 45lbs thrust model which is more suited for a 14 footer. The one handed deploy and stow works very well. I guess my only rift is that you pretty much always have to have a spare battery for the remote foot pedal as there are no controls what so ever on the actual unit. Super fast to remove from the deck of the boat. Make sure you budget for a good quality Deep Cycle Battery (~$100).

Overall very happy.

I have the remote with my MinKota and I use it all the time. There are a couple of ways to rig it (on your rod, on your wrist, or just in your pocket. Great feature to have when trolling break lines and if it's free even better

I was riding in your boat on Saturday that got me thinking I need to switch over to wireless with auto pilot.
