Paint for plastic lures ?

Hello Gurus,

As bizarre and stupid as it may looks , I'm thinking to do some toying with plastic lures and paint.

I figured out if I don't ask stupid questions, I'm not going to learn much

I'm hoping someone can point me into the right direction, about how to decently paint plastic lures and where to get the paint ?

I have Spike-it at the store. It's not a paint as such, but a dye that you can colour plastics with. If you were hoping to paint a design on plastics though, this product is not much good to you.

Thanks Norm and Ed,
unfortunately, I don't think the dye will cut it for me, I'm really looking for plastic lure paint to do some painting on off-the-shelf lures.
I've got a lot of info from the sites Norm included, it just matter now of finding the products.

www.tacklemaking.com ,most people use air brushing,you can mask them and do multi color,basically you alway's start with a complete white paint job,as a basecoat/primer,you can also use testors model paint,and rattlecan clearcoat. also stick on eyes and scale patterns,holo stickers etc.

my paint information fishing pointed to an automative painting brand, called SEM plastic paint. I'm going to give it a try and see if it does what I have in mind.

SEM is good paint,I used to restore classic Mopar musclecars for a living,(taking a break from paint and body dust ) SEM is an excellent rattlecan paint,and they had good replica oem color codes downpat,but make sure you use a good primer(epoxy),and sand the primer smooth,the primer will be the key to your paint adhesion,not lifting,or letting water enter under the paint surface. finish with a clearcoat.
