White lake and Muskrat lake...

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

White lake and Muskrat lake...

Post by Mr.Tackle »

Well, headed out with my wife yesterday for an all day fish on White lake. Unfortunately we wern’t to successful. One little bass and 2 perch...nothing to write home about but a good time non the less. You know you have a great woman when she'll come out fishing with you at 21 weeks pregnant!
The next day (this morning) I headed out myself to Muskrat lake. I put in at about 5.30 am at the main boat launch just in Cobden. It was so misty it was insane (see pictures below) you could barely see the sun. Being so misty i stayed by the weed bed just to the right of the boat launch. I threw my anchor in cast out a bobber and worm and poured a cup of coffee. Well I only had one bite...but what a bite! It had to be the biggest bass i had ever caught (I’m pretty new to fishing). Unfortunately he was the only thing I reeled in this morning but it made my day. I stayed about 50 meters away from the weed bed. i am sure if I was a little closer I might have had a few more bites. I was getting some nibble from something that was stealing worms off my line. i'm not sure what it was. I new to fishing the Muskrat does anyone have any ideas? maybe smelt? Anyways it was a great morning. Here are some pics...I added some of Muskrat with the mist. Enjoy and Happy Fishing!!!

Nice report; nothing beats being out there and seeing the sun come up, especially when you're catching fish. Congrat's on the little one on the way, too.

Nice fish for sure!
I am with you on having a great woman, we are 22 weeks along and she still agrees to fish just about every weekend :D
Let's hope their patience lasts as long as possible
