Shore fishing spots in and around Ottawa?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Could certainly be Pike, they'll eat anything that moves :)

last year I caught a small muskie (about 30") in the Ottawa river off an old concrete wharf.

Largest I have caught sofar shorefishing the Rideau is a 33" 24lb 10oz Carp, there is certainly lots to explore and catch in the Rideau. Use Google maps and discover your own spots.

Pike will definitely eat a worm and if your line was 'cut', that adds to your guess as to what it may have been!
Pints is right about the canal though... there's a back bay area to Dow's that I've fished before with some success.
