Hi guys, happy fathers day in advance for those of you who are fathers. Me and my brother are planning on taking a trip up to Lake Cecebe (Burks Falls) next month. Me and my family used to cottage up there twenty years ago. How is the lake for fishing, I was only 12 when we went up last time. We are not targetting anything specific as far as fish, but just want to go up and have a good time abd catch a few fish.
I also need to know if there is anywhere on the lake near Burks Falls to rent a boat for the day or two.
Thanks Ahead of Time
Need information on lake Cecebe (Burks Falls)
Although I haven't fished this lake in a number of years we used to have some success fishing for walleye as our main target, as well as some pike fishing. The lake(Cecebe) holds numerous smaller walleye, and Ahmic Lake which joins Cecebe is known for slightly larger walleye than Cecebe.
There has been extensive stocking on these lakes, therefore the numbers should be up since the days that I been there. The most successfull lure that we used were jointed rapalas, neon yellow and black-white combinations. Target weedlines that are present in bays across from tent-trailor park as well as a large island that exists in lake(don't know name).
The island has a large sand bar as well as some rocky bottom areas. Trolling at dusk or dawn were of course the best producing times. During the day a jig tipped with worm or minnow sometimes did the trick in these areas.
Good luck. SK

Hi Lakeshore
I spent a week up there 2 years ago and the fishing was good for walleye and pike, nothing big, but lots of action. There is a place called Port Carman Marina 705-387-4200 (I think that is there number) I am not sure if they rent boats. Its on Hyw#520 about 10-20 minutes west of Burks Falls right on Cecebe Lake. Good luck
