1st Annual Icebreaker Muskie Derby

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Dream on boyz!!!!!!!!!!

and I don't mean about Jamsers in a bikini either. I have the luck of a rookie on my side. Never fished before......for anything.......and you all know how that works. :)

If nothing else, it will be a good time for sure.

See you at the Antrim Truck Stop bright and early.

Thanks to all for turning out. A very good turnout for our first Spring IceBreaker event. Was a great weather day out on the water, fishing was a bit slow, but still a very enjoyable day all around.

Derby pictures and further updates will be posted on the OVMC website soon.

Well it was pleasure seeing both old and new faces, and as announced yesterday the OVMC is planning another "fun" derby for the early fall, location, dates TBD.

Stay tuned.

Had a great time. It was nice to get back on the water... Had a huge follow that really got the blood pumping. If I didn't have to make baits today I'd be back on the water!

Thanks everybody who participated.

I've been skunked many times before, but never had as much fun as I did yesterday. First time on the Mad, met lots of great people. Iam also looking forward to next years season opener.
Thanks to all who participated and organized this event.

Thank you OVMC for putting on this little derby. The weather was fantastic and it was especially fun for me since I brought my good buddy from University in Halifax who had never fished before, and we had a great hoot on many occasions.....not to mention he caught his first ever Musky and took 3rd place in the derby. :)

The format was simple, the banquet was great, the food was good and the company was excellent.

Thanks again and I look forward to next year.

Well I "am" happy to report that my partner......first time Musky fisherman.....came in 3rd place with a 34" lunge. :)

See....I told you I had the luck of a rookie on my side.

In retrospect we are a little disappointed though. He was so concerned with getting the fish back that he didn't want to take a photo of himself with it. Good on him, but it would have been nice to have a little pic to remember the day. We have a pic, but it's not a good one, just a measurement pic.

In any case, it was a great day.
